Copyright and DMCA Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
Sicomi (sicomi.com, demo.sicomi.com and app.sicomi.com) is operated by 1984 Management Company Inc., doing business as Sicomi ("Sicomi", "we"). Sicomi is in a free, invite-only founding preview where independent filmmakers share series and films made with AI. Creators own their work, and we respect the rights of everyone else too. This page explains how to report copyright infringement, how to respond if your work was removed, and what happens to repeat infringers.
1. Reporting infringement (takedown notice)
If you believe content on Sicomi infringes a copyright you own or are authorised to act for, send a written notice to our designated agent. Under 17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3) your notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name works).
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed. If there are several works, a representative list.
- Identification of the material on Sicomi you say is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it. The best way: the link to the title or episode, plus timestamps.
- Your contact information: name, postal address, phone number and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
Send it by email or post to the agent below. Notices missing required elements may not be actioned; we'll tell you what's missing.
Before sending, please consider whether the use may be fair use (for example commentary, criticism or parody). Under 17 U.S.C. 512(f), anyone who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation that content is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees.
Similarity of style, genre, look or "AI feel" is not by itself copyright infringement. Please identify the specific protected material that was copied.

This contact is for copyright notices only. For anything else, write to support@sicomi.com. For child-safety reports, intimate images or deepfakes of a real person, use safety@sicomi.com or sicomi.com/report-intimate-images, which are handled faster and separately.
3. What we do with a valid notice
- A person at Sicomi reviews every notice. We aim to disable access to the identified material within 24 hours of receiving a complete notice.
- We tell the uploader, send them a copy of the notice (we may remove your phone number and street address if you ask; your name and the work stay so they can respond), and explain how to counter-notify.
4. Counter-notice (if your content was removed)
If you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the designated agent. Under 17 U.S.C. 512(g)(3) it must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal (its Sicomi link).
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district where your address is (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which Sicomi may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or their agent.
We send your counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. We restore the material between 10 and 14 business days after receiving your counter-notice, unless the original sender tells us they have filed a court action seeking to restrain you. The same 512(f) warning applies to counter-notices.
5. Repeat infringers
We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe. Our rule:
- A strike is recorded when we remove material after a valid notice that is not successfully counter-noticed or withdrawn, or when a person at Sicomi confirms infringement after a review.
- 3 strikes within 12 months leads to termination of the account, and you may not open a new one.
- Strikes that are withdrawn, successfully counter-noticed or overturned on appeal are removed.
- Severe cases (for example uploading someone else's whole series, or stealing work while pretending to be its creator) can lead to termination after a single review by a person.
- Every strike and termination comes with reasons, and you can appeal within 30 days. See the Repeat-Infringer Policy for details.
6. Re-uploads of the same work
Sicomi is building automatic matching to catch exact or near-total re-uploads of creators' work. When it is live:
- If a live title is a near-total copy of a verified creator's work (at least 80% of both works match, with high confidence), it can be hidden automatically for up to 24 hours while a person decides. This is a temporary hide, not a removal and not a strike. The uploader is told at once that the hide was automated, which work it matched, and how to dispute it. If no one decides within 24 hours, the title comes back.
- Only a person can remove a title or record a strike.
- Disputes about these matches go through the match-dispute button in Studio. DMCA notices and counter-notices remain a separate legal path.
Until matching is live, we check for copies by hand during our review of each title.
7. Creators on Sicomi
Creators keep full ownership of their work. If you find your Sicomi work copied somewhere else, we can help you find the right reporting route for that site, but we don't send notices on your behalf.
8. Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date at the top. For material changes we give 14 days' notice by email to creators.
