Real-Person Consent and Release (template)

Version 0.5 · Approved by the founder 2026-10-19; not lawyer-reviewed · [NOT YET IN USE] · Last updated 2026-10-19

This release is between the Person named below and the Creator named below. It lets the Creator depict, imitate or recreate the Person's name, likeness, image or voice, including with AI tools, in the way described below, and lets Sicomi show that work as the Creator's agreement with Sicomi allows. "Sicomi" means 1984 Management Company Inc., doing business as Sicomi, and any company that later runs the Sicomi service (such as a subsidiary or successor). Sicomi may rely on this release but is not a party to it.

Please read before signing. This release may let the Creator use an AI-made copy of your face, body or voice (a "digital replica"). In California, a contract term that lets someone use a digital replica of you in place of work you would otherwise do in person can be unenforceable unless it describes the intended uses in reasonably specific terms and you were represented by a lawyer or a union when you agreed. You can take this form to a lawyer or your union before you sign. You do not have to sign it.

1. What the Person agrees to

1.1 The Person allows the Creator to use the Person's name, likeness, image and voice, including AI-generated or AI-altered versions, only for the uses ticked in Part B, for the Term, as described in Part A.

1.2 The Person has seen [the script / a description / the finished Work / sample images and audio of the character] (tick all that apply) and understands how they will appear.

2. Limits

2.1 The Creator will not use the Person's likeness or voice, or any AI model, voice clone or digital replica of them, outside the uses in Part B without a new written consent, and will not let anyone else use it.

2.2 Never intimate. This release never permits any nude, sexual, sexualised or intimate depiction of the Person, real or AI-made, and Sicomi does not allow one under any agreement, even if the Person says yes. If a Creator publishes one, Sicomi removes it under its intimate-image process (see 4.5).

2.2A The Creator will not use the Person's likeness or voice to show the Person endorsing a product, service, cause or political view, or saying or doing anything defamatory or that the Person would reasonably find degrading, unless separately agreed in writing.

2.3 The Creator will not use any recording, image or replica of the Person to train or improve an AI model that others can use, and will keep any model or voice clone of the Person private and secure. When the Term ends, the Creator will delete any model or voice clone made of the Person, except as needed to keep already-published titles available under section 4.3.

2.4 Founding preview limits. While Sicomi is in its founding preview, it hosts titles rated 16+ or lower only. This release does not permit use in a title rated 18+ or in any place Sicomi does not host in the preview. Sicomi also does not accept, in the preview, a release for a Person under 18 or for a person who has died (sections 5 and 6), or for a realistic politician or a real news event.

3. Representation and union status

3.1 When signing, the Person (tick one):

  • ☐ was represented by a lawyer: name ______
  • ☐ was represented by a labor union: union ______, representative ______
  • ☐ was not represented, and understands they could have been.

3.2 The Person (tick one) ☐ is ☐ is not a member of a performers' union (for example SAG-AFTRA or Equity). If they are, the Person and the Creator have each checked their own union obligations; this release does not decide them.

3.3 Sicomi's rule. For a recurring character or any AI-generated likeness or voice clone, Sicomi asks for 3.1 to show a lawyer or union representative before it will publish. For a filmed appearance in one work, an unrepresented Person may sign. This never applies to an AI-generated likeness or a voice clone.

4. Withdrawing consent

4.1 The Person may withdraw consent at any time by writing to the Creator and to Sicomi at safety@sicomi.com (legal@sicomi.com also works; Sicomi passes a withdrawal received there to its safety team the same day). Sicomi hides the title or character while it checks.

4.2 For a recurring character, withdrawal stops all new titles, promotion and character-profile use straight away. Sicomi will hide the character profile and take the character out of rankings within 24 hours of receiving a valid withdrawal.

4.3 For titles already published before the withdrawal (tick one):

  • ☐ they may stay available on the services in Part B; or
  • ☐ the Creator will take them down within 30 days, and Sicomi will hide them on Sicomi within 24 hours.

No one has to recall copies already lawfully distributed elsewhere.

4.4 If the Term ends without renewal, section 4 applies as if the Person had withdrawn on the last day of the Term.

4.5 Intimate images. If the Person's complaint is about a nude, sexual or intimate image of them, real or AI-made, they do not need to withdraw this release first. They can use the request on sicomi.com/report-intimate-images. Sicomi hides the content as soon as it receives a valid request and removes it, with known identical copies on Sicomi, within 48 hours.

5. A Person under 18

Not accepted in the founding preview. If the Person is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign below, the Person may never appear in any sexual, nude or sexualised context, and option 3.3's representation rule applies to any AI-generated likeness or voice. [California: work permits and Coogan rules may apply if the minor is performing for pay; check before filming.] Sicomi does not rank or promote a real child's likeness in Stars rows.

6. A person who has died

Not accepted in the founding preview. If the Person has died, the person who controls their publicity rights (for example the estate, heirs or a transferee) signs instead and confirms, in Part A, the authority under which they sign. In California, using a digital replica of a deceased personality in an audiovisual work without that consent can create liability (Cal. Civ. Code 3344.1). Other states have their own rules.

7. Promises

7.1 The Person (or the signer for a deceased person) confirms they have the right to give this consent and have not given anyone an exclusive right that conflicts with it.

7.2 The Creator confirms they will use the likeness only as this release allows, keep it secure, and give a signed copy to Sicomi before the Work or Character goes live.

8. Signatures

Person (or signer for a deceased person)Parent or guardian (if under 18)Lawyer or union representative (optional)Creator
Signature
Name
Date

The Creator uploads the signed copy in Studio (or sends it to creators@sicomi.com) before publishing. Sicomi checks it before the character or title goes live, confirms directly with the Person (at the email in Part A) that they signed, shows the character as "Used with permission", and keeps a copy under its Privacy Policy.
